After an eleven year hiatus from the canvas, Eileen Morrison of Long Beach, has returned to her roots as a painter of mixed media.
Upon receiving a BFA from South Alabama and an MLA from Springhill College, she focused on her entrepreneurial venture of her own startup hand embellished glassware company, ELM Design.
"To return to the canvas has been a homecoming to my first love, so thrilled after years of hibernating to show at Smith and Lens."
Artists Statement for Illuminated Visions:
There are landscapes surrounding us. They show themselves while reflecting the many different moods of the human experience. I welcome the viewer to experience human emotion in every regard...sharing the juxtaposition of the strokes in each piece. Rather than re-creating a landscape on a canvas, I aim to express its essence and break the silence of the acquiescent horizon. The overlap of shapes and color enriches each individual expression and deepens the cohesion within the series.
Nothing too subordinate, nothing too dominate.
“Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.” ―Rumi
